Meet our new General Sales Manager, Matt Christian!

We are excited to announce that Matt Christian is our new General Sales Manager! 

As an organization, we pride ourselves on helping our employees to grow, and promoting from within. A perfect example of this is Matt, who joined us as a sales assistant, and has grown into an excellent leader. 

Matt is a part of the Eide family; his grandpa is Al Eide, who founded the Eide Automotive Group in 1974. He grew up watching his grandpa and mother work in the dealership in Grand Forks, and knew that one day he wanted to join the family business. 

Matt started working at Eide Chrysler in January 2022 as a delivery coordinator, and then became a sales consultant the next month. He was then promoted to Business Manager at the beginning of 2023, and in April 2024, he was promoted to New Car Manager. He then transferred over to Eide Chevrolet in December of 2024, and became the Used Car Manager. Now, at the beginning of June, he was promoted to our General Sales Manager (GSM)! 

“My favorite part of my job is that everyday is completely different,” says Matt. “Everyday I am learning something new, and it is awesome to see not only my own growth, but the growth of those I work with as well. I also love working with my team, and meeting new people. I am so thankful that I get to build relationships with our customers, and see them around town.”

As the GSM, Matt oversees the sales department, ensuring that everyone has the tools to be successful, both individually and as a group. “It has been so much fun watching our team grow together, and seeing how far we’ve come in the last few months. We have created a fun and hard working team, and it is rewarding to see everyone succeed, and grow within the company.”

“I am incredibly thankful to be a part of the Eide Automotive Group,” Matt says. “Everyday is so much fun, and we truly have become one big family. I am excited to continue to grow, and continue my career with the company.”

“I would like to say a special thank you to my parents,” says Matt. “They have always supported me - growing up through my hockey career, and now as I grow in our family business. They have helped me to pursue my dreams, and taught me hard work and accountability, that have helped me to grow into the man I am today. 

“I would also like to thank my Grandpa Al. Although he is no longer with us, he has given everyone in the Eide family the opportunity to grow, and has created hundreds of careers. Eide has had a large impact on our communities, and we wouldn’t be where we are today without him. I look forward to continuing the family legacy as I continue my career with the Eide Automotive Group.”

“Matt has become a great young manager for our Chevrolet team,” says Ryne Balzer, General Manager at Eide Chevrolet. “He is great with our customers, helping to resolve issues gracefully when necessary; he treats everyone with respect, and is always the first one here and the last one to go home. He is always helping our sales team to grow, and helping with their training so they have all of the tools they need to succeed. His dedication to his craft is amazing to watch, and we are so thankful to have him on our team.”

“Matt has excelled at each level of our business - Sales, Finance & Insurance, New Car Management and Used Car Management,” says Jesse Peterson, President of the Eide Automotive Group. “He has developed his leadership skills as well and will do a great job as General Sales Manager.”

In his spare time, Matt likes to spend time with his friends, family, and his nephews, and spend time outside at the lake and golfing.
